Birthplace 06:31
Shalom, yanqui! He blew in light as a feather On the wings of a drifter He’s floating high on the freedom And I thought that he might be a runaway too. “You’re today's lover, Tomorrow’s just a game we play,” That sun-kissed rasta said. "Love ‘em while you're with ‘em!" And I thought that he might be a runaway too. But then when we fall out of routine We run rootless all through the garden like children, We surrender in to be here this moment. We’re swallowed whole, then we are born again. This is wild love. This is our birthplace, now. Like the wandering sadhu He grew tired of carrying A past so weighted, Then forgot to remember. And I thought that he might be a runaway too. But then when we fall out of routine We run rootless all through the garden like children, We surrender in to be here this moment. We’re swallowed whole, then we are born again. This is wild love. This is our birthplace, now. Where is the master? Go on, get him up! I wanna be back in the game. But I don’t wanna be back in the game. Do you still grow there, edelweiss? I took the long way, it led me far from home. One day I’ll come back, edelweiss, But I’m not the same now. We’ll make something new.

We Flew 05:07
You know I love being your boyfriend And I love to love you baby But when we go out, we’re out of fashion So we tuck it in. When I forget and give you a kiss, I don’t do it to show it to the world. You’re right that there’s a time and there’s a place, And baby that was it, my love. Maybe we’re just two faggots to them But we are flowers growing through their rotting book Maybe we’re just two faggots to them But our love is stronger than their fear for sure Maybe we’re just two faggots to them But you can choose to hand over your smile Maybe we’re just two faggots to them But we only got here, now, and right on time We flew right over their heads again, And we flew. As judged by their divine authority our love is unnatural While their natural hate clouds every rainbow across every sky Their natural lack of compassion nails our hearts up on their crosses But I know that the love I have for you is natural as it could get, my love. Maybe we’re just two faggots to them But we are flowers growing through their rotting book Maybe we’re just two faggots to them But our love is stronger than their fear for sure Maybe we’re just two faggots to them But you can choose to hand over your smile Maybe we’re just two faggots to them But we only got here, now, and right on time We flew right over their heads, And we flew. You are my true love. They want us blue, love. We flew right over their heads again.

The story of the boy in the man, Peter Pan tugging on his sleeve. Saw their ring-around-the-rosie Swell into a cyclone and blow across the sea. That knotted mess washed up in your land And fit like a thimble in your hand. You said you liked his make believe. He told you it’s easy, follow me. And they rode their dream past borders, Past the past that pleads for freedom. Calling out to time’s cold cleaver To cut the old loose from the new. But what a failure, in the man who said that he wanted love Is a boy who whispers so lowly that he is gonna destroy it all. I bet he runs away like a child tired of playing their grown-up game. Well, it's his famous fly away. It’s not a bird, no, it’s his famous fly away. It’s not unheard of, no, it’s his famous fly away. Just another lost boy, it’s his turn to fly away. So there before endless ways he waits Much like a criminal waits for his fate. He is a deer struck dumb by the light of day. He’s frozen in by choice. By the boy who runs in circles Through the temples and the dark rooms, And the old men snoring love songs Passed out on something new. But what a failure, in the man who said that he wanted love Is a boy who whispers so lowly that he is gonna destroy it all. I bet he runs away like a child tired of playing their grown up game. Well, it's his famous fly away. It’s not a bird, no, it’s his famous fly away. It’s not unheard of, no, it’s his famous fly away. Just another lost boy, it’s his turn to fly away. The story of the boy in the man, Peter Pan tugging on his sleeve.

Apocalyptic 05:53
His innocence fell with his clothes to the floor In a pile of superhero PJs The day the seed was first planted in him. From that a noose grew around his throat. He left him hanging from the family tree, Dripping out white into the river down below, Rapids of venom slowing eating him away, Flowing like fire until he overflows. And as the bullet enters in and out of him, Is this part of His plan? Can he heal the damage that shred right through his soul? So apocalyptic. And the light was within his reach But the will moved through him like a slug. Both of his hands were in fists, body frozen. He is a boy who knows how it feels to break. In a way he was yours and she was mine. She would shrink me down until I imploded. Still the child made a superhero out of her Even with her nail marks along my throat. My home was always on the edge of a steep cliff, So it was the only place I knew to build our own. Now we’ve both fallen down into the river below, And for me to stay above I must hold you down. We recreate the chaos, It feels so safe inside the familiar pain. But we are pedaling backward, cycling through our past, So apocalyptic. And the light is within our reach But the will moves through us like a slug Both of our hands are in fists, bodies frozen We’re just two boys who know how it feels to To break down, to break up, break in two. Now he’s reaching out a hand, Take his hand, set him free. A kiss for that wounded child, Kiss his cheek, set him free. We are both strong enough to rescue them, We are warriors of the light. You’ve never been stronger than you are today, Now let’s open up the sky. Cause we are pure love And it’s here and it’s free. Come take my hand, my love We are free, we are free ...

“I’m a ho? No, you a ho!” And then we crack up like fragile porcelain boys. Oh the heat of the Rio sun Makes us so thirsty, unbuttons us undone. “Let’s start out on Amoedo,” I can smell sweet cachaça on your breath. “Can we take him home?” “I guess, but I think he likes you much more than me...” Tonight let’s drink our love away. Tonight let’s give our love away. “How do you do it?” “I guess it works for us, we’re just having fun.” Tell you the truth, we just bury it. “Men like us know how to separate our hearts from the free play.” We save the heart for some other day. Year after year the party carried on ‘Til we were forced to face what we had done. While we were spinning wild and knocking over everything We’d built a wall between us higher than that Cristo Redentor. Tonight let’s drink our love away. Tonight let’s give our love away. “It’s just a game, they don’t mean a thing to me.” Well, that’s what we said. “Why should we stop? We can handle it.” But we couldn’t see what we’d sacrificed for our game Until our love fell apart like cracked porcelain.

In this valley I am weak. The river dried up in the space between him and me The day that he ran away. In this valley I’m alone, An arid desert that is so far from our home. I try to leave But there is no way out Oh help me out. In this valley I am small. I’m crawling on my hands and knees Looking for some sign of life, but there is none. In this valley I’m in deep. I dug all day to have a place to get some sleep. I climbed inside But now there’s no way out Oh help me out. And his eyes are glazing over And the motion of the world blurs into him nothingness. He feels the end move backward, It’s a vacuum all gone wrong Pulling back in what they had. And there is no escaping it, But he is not accepting it. He’ll make a plan or He’ll find a way out. He’ll change his mind Or make his home right here. In this valley I give in. I saw you look and turn away then head to beach... Bon voyage.

Weeks in the crypt, dusting off all the bones left behind Our love’s disintegration. And I’m cataloging every piece of the puzzle to find The poison that brought us down. Was it the grip of a weak man far too desperate for your constant admiration? And did the same man push you to disrespect your body? All in the name of free love That confined you into a small place you couldn’t breathe in, Trembling in the shadow of a fake halo. But there is so much that I wish that you knew, So I’ll pen a letter to you. A letter to you. It won’t do much good, I know, But it’s all I can do now. You married a man who despite all the glitter he threw Felt at home in darkness Who vomited up every thought that would pass through his mind, Especially ones that wore you down. Whose priority was to chase down the money While you sought constant validation And who couldn’t be bothered to notice you buried alive While professing a true love That confined you into a small place you couldn’t breathe in, Trembling in the shadow of a fake halo. But there is so much that I wish that you knew, So I’ll pen a letter to you. A letter to you. It won’t do much good, I know. But it is all I can do. I would give it all up if I could see you, feel you. No, it won’t do much good, I know, But it’s all I can do now. Just let him go.

The ground gave That July and I caved in with it, My whole core collapsed. Now we’re back playing house. I hope it’s not too late To find my way back to you. I hope it’s not too late. And I’m trying, and it’s hard cause my mind travels back there. I’d love to forget, but that day changed everything. I hope it’s not too late To find my way back to you. I hope it’s not too late. So naïve To trust my heart safe with a soulmate Who would never leave. I sure miss that sweet lie. I hope it’s not too late To find my way back to you. I hope it’s not too late.

More 04:41
Nail the good stuff into the palm of my hand And I will bleed for you. I’ve given up everything that might heal the wound Cause the drugs numb so good. It wasn’t always the case, I used to dream about finding happiness. But sucking off a god that gives a shallow relief, I find it the easiest. And now I want more. Give me some more. I deserve more. I’m taking more. Give it to me now! Mine! Gimme! A demon took hold of my soul. I like him real well when he gives me what I want, But now it’s too much work. If he can’t fill up the void I told him to fill Then he must not be good enough. And if I push aside the signs my body’s giving me, I think I could trick me whole. Give it to me but if it’s not the biggest, don’t worry, I need to have a goal. And now I want more. Give me some more. I deserve more. I’m taking more. Give it to me now! Mine! Gimme! A demon took hold of my soul. Nail the good stuff into the palm of my hand And I will bleed for you.

Brother 08:51
Sat on a tree stump, swayed in the wind, I can feel you. Uncoupled, size doubled, dreams halved, but all the same, Can you feel me? Brother, please, lend me your eyes again. Brother, please, the beat of your heart again. “Oh the past is blowing a kiss to you. Now is the same as it has always been. He’s in there, fast asleep. Close your eyes, he might wake up.” A pathless land, I’m riddling a way. Could a slave keep dreaming? Slowly and still-ly advance on ahead? But I’m stuck right here. Brother, please, sing me your song again. Brother, please, lead me back home again. There is a king, drunk and undressing a whore. A monkey lord, bent over taking his own sword. A wounded loon wrenching the life from his soul. I peel back the layers that bind me So finally I can claim my place on that throne of bone. “Oh the past is blowing a kiss to you. Now is the same as it has always been. He’s in there, fast asleep. Close your eyes, he might wake up.” These shadows are dancing an ode to an age. The ripples send waves through my body, Mirrors reflecting the infinite in me. Then I slip right back. Brother, please, bring me to life again. Brother, please, bring me to life again. There is a king, drunk and undressing a whore. A monkey lord, bent over taking his own sword. A wounded loon wrenching the life from his soul. I peel back the layers that bind me So finally I can claim my place on that throne of bone. I dreamt that I set down all this shit and started to climb that tree. I dreamt you had hung yourself for days upside down. I dreamt we were hanging intertwined, a braid of gold. I dreamt we were merging into one, an ouroboros. I’m dreaming again. The fool on the hill, I left him behind, That’s my sacrifice. Suspended in the air, we had Coiled and united, we surrendered there. Oh Lord, if the answer were to make its way to me before I lie down in that dirt bed again, Oh Lord, I swear that I would kneel before you day and night And dress him up in fire.

Sunstone 06:08
The fool is on the edge of the cliff Looking down at paradise. Everything is just as it seems in the glow Of the sun that illuminates the path he is on. And with one white rose, the journey starts for our hero. Years go by as sweet as pie, But nothing lasts forever, right? He swears that he saw a sign just minutes ago But his road lead him in circles and did him in. Then the sky grew dim and fog enveloped our hero. Luck would have me stumble down to the ground, Down into the darkest shade of a shrub. I closed my eyes with dismay. They opened on a sight that took my breath away. What it was, I couldn’t say... It hovered right above my chest. A magnet pulled it gently in through my ribcage. It settled like a crown on my heart. Tired from tiptoeing backward and blindfolded, Waiting on my life to take me by the hand. My guiding light had burned out, and I’m no Edison. I held it up to the sky, and saw a glint through the gloom. And I’m on my path again. A sunstone! I let the ray show the way. Follow the glow. A sunstone! I let the ray show the way. A sunstone! The fool’s favorite fantasy would battle with reality. He wanted everything tied in a bow, But the loose ends led him high but oh so low, And this rollercoaster wore out our poor hero. It called out to the Emperor with his ankh Shut within the walls of old beliefs And filtered in through the cracks Filling every corner with a freedom song. Resonating from within, One by one division crumbled down. When finally the sound passed in through his ears, I could feel his power release. Doing a delicate dance on the outer rim, Toeing along the line that pulls me underneath, Keeping my head up as I wade through this swamp land, I break out of the lie and pull myself to the truth. And I’m on my path again. A sunstone! I let the ray show the way. Follow the glow. A sunstone! I let the ray show the way. A sunstone! The fool kept his stone inside a secret place for safe keeping. Later when he looked for it, forgot where it was.
